JESSICA ENNIS Win Gold In Olympic 2012
Jessica Ennis is on course to win Olympic gold in the heptathlon after two stellar performances in the long jump and the javelin -- her supposedly weaker events -- converted to 5,971 points, putting her 188 points ahead of her nearest competitor. Over the course of this two-day competition the 26-year-old has grown as an athlete -- with hardly a stutter over the six events so far -- and her lead now looks impregnable.
Jessica Ennis lived up to her reputation as the golden girl of London 2012 as she fulfilled her dream of becoming Olympic heptathlon champion.
JESSICA ENNIS has claimed Olympic gold in the women's hepthalon in front of a packed crowd at Stratford in the London 2012 Games tonight.
Ennis went into the final event of the hepthalon, the 800m race, leading nearest rival Austra Skujyte by almost 200 points after strong performances in the long jump and javelin.
Despite having a commanding overall lead, Ennis did not fall into complacency during the final hepthalon event and finished first in the 800m with a time of 2:08.65.
